day eighty

"Studio" 4x6" acrylic on paper $40 + shipping

Oh i am happy with this one! i was short on time tonight so i had to paint faster and i love the end results of this one. Sometimes i can paint fast and sometimes i am slow. And yes my studio is this cramped, dark, and unorganized. This is actually the cleaner corner! It is my little art hole.

Day Seventy-eight 2

"Laundry on the line" 4x6"acrylic on paper (sold)

Hmmm... this was fun!

Squeel!

Oh my gosh, so normally i have to think of a bunch of ideas of what to paint and list them so i can not claim i have no ideas, well that still leaves me not wanting to paint any of those ideas, and i search the house frustrated for something to paint.

I have been oogling www.dailypaintworks.com for a little while and will soon join whenever i can afford the $13 a month fee. (yes, times they are difficult) and came across the weekly challenge... that has a whole long list of amazing fun challenges of topics to paint! woot, a list of inspiration and images of others ideas! what more can you ask for?!  and then when i can join people can look and buy my art through the website.

Many paintings are forsale, just trying to figure out the best way of going about it. If you are interested shoot me an email on what painting is is and we can work things out!

kendalle.weinberg@gmail.com (i don't check 1000 times a day and please put painting or art or something in the title line.)

Also, i would really appreciate a share on facebook/other websites to further get out there.

and please if you have any recommendations or comments or questions feel free to comment, add me on facebook, send me an email... I get ridiculously excited when someone comments!

Also, i have set up an artist page on facebook so if you want to check it.. although it is pretty much the same art that is on my blog.... rambling when i should be painting... see ya later!

Day seventy-eight

"Rainbow Crossing" 4x6" acrylic on paper $40 + shipping to buy

Well, its finished, not sure how i feel about the results. Rainbows in paintings never seem to work just right i find. Not feeling 100% successful on this one.

Day Seventy-seven

To be Continued....

Alas, it is past my bed time. So The rest of this painting will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope to finish this up as well as do another painting... I hope i do not ruin where i am going with this, as i am liking where it is now, and what i am going to attempt i have rarely found others in success and i have never attempted... muahaha suspense is good.

day seventy-six

"clouds at sunset on the beach" 4x6" acrylic on paper $40 + shipping

well I attempted a sky painting, I need to practice clouds as i painted these... i don't know 5 or so times. Not happy with them fully. I made them too uniform in shape. Next time i will know to remember they are not uniform and make sure i do not repeat the same mistake. Yet another bonus to a painting a day.

Day Seventy-three

"Old Men won't stand still" 4x6" acrylic on paper $40 + shipping

This old guy was captured in the background of another person. His face was too grand to not paint. He looks rather angry and in this painting sickly. Fun little painting to paint. Not sure i love the results but for a painting a day i get to paint whatever i want.

"Essa" 4x6" Acrylic on paper $40 + Shipping

I am not totally happy with this one, something is off and i think it lacks the essence of essa, so it doesn't have the life he has.

Well I had to do granny smith apples yet again as green shiny stuff is quite the challenge for me. Woo I am happy with this one. FINALLY. This one took a long long time. i started it last night just roughing in the shapes and worked in two sessions today, but it is done and i am happy with it. Take that granny smith apples! Too bad they don't taste very good, not fully ripe.

Day Sixty-two

"Corn" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper (Sold)

This was quite interesting, the kernels were a bit daunting but the silk was what worried me the most.

Monday, October 8, 2012

Day Sixty-one

"Watermelon" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper (Sold)

This started out as one slice of watermelon, then one plus 2 rinds, then 2 slices, 2 rinds. Now thats its done with the 2 slices, 2 rinds, one whole I really like it. Fun painting. I was hoping it would be all happy and fun to look at, not sure thats how it ended but I like it. I didn't have a watermelon to look at so hopefully i got the lighting correct. I couldn't make up my mind for most of this painting to where the light was coming from.

Reflections.

I have been doing a painting a day since Aug 10, so it has been almost two months now. I have roughly 60 paintings now.

It is amazing how different i feel today from doing them. Since i have started doing a painting a day i feel my painting has improved. It takes painting every day to really learn how to paint i feel. When i was painting every once and a while i forgot things i need to work on in my next painting.

I feel much more confident in my work, I took some paintings into a local gallery on the off chance they may like them. And they did! I now have 7 paintings in a gallery for sale on Main Street, Cedar Falls, Iowa. cgrahamfoto.com They have a lot of really awesome art that my work gets to keep company.

I got an awesome project of 28 Foodie paintings to do before thanksgiving and have around 22 done. Some may not make the cut, but they are coming.

I started this blog and feel even more like a real artist now that i have my work up and cleaned up.

On Aug 9, i loved art but didn't feel like a working artist. Now i feel like a real artist and its great! Painting is my meditation that keeps me happy. I don't think i have felt bored once since starting this project so i don't see an end in sight.

Day Sixty

"Grape Cluster" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper (Sold)

This weekend has been busy, and i had started this one a few days ago and it was a lot of fun. I was able to finish up on this tonight. My hands are really shaky today. I need sleep. The other day this was very fun, today i was just trying not to get random colors all over the place. Signing it was hard as my hand wouldn't cooperate. I think it turned out pretty well though.

No Painting. Meh.

Sorry no painting today. Today i was feeling a bit meh. So i didn't plan to paint anything, about an hour before bed time though i started a painting.... but i didn't finish it so it should be up this weekend. Hopefully. Every once and awhile i just don't have it in me to paint.

So not to disappoint i will put up a picture of messi. He makes every day better.

"Messi getting cleaner" Photo. Awesomeness captured.

Day Fifty-eight.

"Gourd Mating Dance" 4x6" Acrylic on paper (Sold)

When i was setting these up they just looked so much like birds to me that i had to paint their dance. It was a fight as they wanted to fall over but i think it turned out. Oh and I see the one on the right as male and the left female... clearly.

Day Fifty-seven.

"Lady one" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper

Loved her expression, and needed to paint it.

Day Forty-Nine

"Luna and Napoleon" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper

These are my friend's cats. The black one you may have noticed only has one ear. When he was a kitten he was thrown out of a moving car down the high way. A nice man thought he was trash but pulled over, and picked him up, and brought him into the shelter unsure of the outcome. It was raining that night and he was very thin, covered in fleas, and his ear was ripped half way off. He had to have surgery to remove his ear as his ear canal was torn as well. He now lives with my friend Lacey and just celebrated his one year birthday. Luna the black and white cat was also a kitten brought into the shelter. This is why you need to spay and neuter your pets, you never know where kittens and puppies will end up. These are very lucky cats, and they spend their time looking out the sliding glass doors watching the world go by.

Day Forty-eight.

"Hopeful Eyes" 4x6" Acrylic on paper (sold)

Lab puppies are about the cutest thing on earth and so when i was deciding what to paint for the Cedar Bend Humane Society Gala this fall this is what i ended with. Hope he raises some money for them. He is going to be part of the silent auction.

"Wasp" 4x6" Acrylic on Paper $40 + shipping

I hate wasps! They scare me, i even taught Messi to run when he sees bees and wasps. I like to say it is a justified fear, they can hurt you. Mice, snakes, bats are all fine with me... my weakness is wasps. So I painted a dead one. I win.
